Well, what can I say? Another fantastic concert given by the pupils of Williamsburgh, Mossvale, Todholm, Gallowhill and Ralston Primaries with an equally fantastic input from the pupils from Paisley Grammar School. The rehearsal days on Monday and Tuesday were the usual chaos of putting together a performance with over 200 pupils! A special thanks go out to all the primary staff and head teachers for their time and effort in supporting this important transition concert - we hope the students were made to feel welcome by the Paisley Grammar community - we certainly enjoyed working with them all!
Each of the primary schools performed exceptionally well in front of a packed assembly hall - quite a scary moment for these youngsters - but they took it all in their stride! I was really impressed with the level of performance from all the PGS ensembles Celtic Band, 1st Year Rock Band (The Monsters?), String Group, Concert Band, Choir, Senior Prefect Vocal Ensemble, not to mention our Glee Group - Vocalise! They all gave a great performance and showed the younger P7's what fun music making can be!
A huge thanks to our music department staff who work tirelessly to provide these opportunities for all students. More thanks go out to all the staff from the school who gave up time to come and work behind the scenes and front of house - allowing the concert to run smoothly.
I write this blog post very proud of all the students - I probably don't say it enough - you are a credit to the school and to me - you make my job very worthwhile!
